A nice sunny day on the upper Kakapothi, nice bit of river but in the bottom of a deep slimy gorge with possibly the worst portage possible, involving grabing a bit of jammed wood blocking a sive and some how clambering onto it mid river right on the lip of a G Gnarly drop. Not one on my must do again soon list.





Colliers gorge on the Whitcombe, quite big. We flew in during heavy rain... The river rose from 70'ish cumects to a slilly level (180 cumecs??). I think you could actually see the river rising, a tad worrying when at the bottom of a big canyon. I think I saw a Terrodactil on this river.


Ill try and take some pictures of stuff other than canoes, but paddling is all I do
